Dr. Asiodu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Family Health Care Nursing at the University of California, San Francisco, and an Investigator with the Bixby Center for Global Reproductive Health and Affiliated Faculty with the Center for Health Equity. Dr. Asiodu also leads the Motivating Interdisciplinary Lactation Knowledge (MILK) Research Lab. She is a public health focused nurse-scientist, educator, and lactation consultant. Her program of research focuses on identifying and addressing the impact of social and structural determinants of health during the reproductive life course, with a specific emphasis on human milk feeding, maternity care practices, contraceptive use, and interventions. Dr. Asiodu is actively engaged in local, state and national human milk feeding, reproductive health, maternal and child health, and public health organizations geared toward achieving health equity and justice. Dr. Asiodu received her BSN from the University of Southern California, MS and PhD from UCSF School of Nursing and completed postdoctoral work at the University of Illinois, at Chicago.
