We love highlighting the activities of our amazing USLCA chapters! This month, we’re excited to share information from the Northern Indiana Lactation Consultant Association (NINLCA).
Formed in 1988, NINLCA provides an opportunity for networking among Lactation Consultants and anyone else who supports breastfeeding. NINLCA’s purpose is:
- To promote breastfeeding in Northern Indiana and improve the visibility of Lactation Consultants.
- To improve the Lactation Consultant’s skills by communication and networking with other Lactation Consultants and Allied Health Professionals and by sponsoring and participating in on-going education relevant to lactation.
- To enhance the growth of USLCA by forming a local affiliate and holding regular meetings.
For one of its 2021 initiatives, NINLCA plans on sponsoring a few scholarships for individuals to attend a CLS/CLC course. The chapter plans on opening the application process in March for the scholarships to be awarded later in the year. For a future goal, NINLCA is hoping to hold its conference in 2022.
