Thank you for your service

Every year we see wonderful board members come and go.  This year we honor 3 who have stepped away from the board, 2 new members of the board, and 1 member who transitions to a place of leadership as USLCA’s newest president.

Alisa Sanders, RN, IBCLC, RLC, completed her term as President at the AGM. Alisa led USLCA through a time of transition and change during which USLCA updated its administrative structure, website, and functionality of systems impacting our members and advocated for the IBCLC with policy makers. Alisa listened carefully to USLCA members and every decision and action was made with the member at the center. Alisa demonstrated leadership with intelligence, grace, and style. We will miss her and won’t let her get too far away!

Laurie Beck, MSN, IBCLC, USLCA thanks you for stepping in as Director of Professional Development when the former director had to step down. Laurie established USLCA as an ANCC provider of nursing continuing education and ensured that USLCA offered members Webinars on the topics they care about most. We will miss Laurie’s “get it done” ethic, wisdom, and humor, and thank her for her hours of hard work and heart for USLCA. Genae Strong, PhD, CNM, IBCLC, stepped into the role as of this year’s Annual General Meeting on July 24, 2015. Genae will be a strong addition to the Board.

Michele Bunker-Albert, DNP, RN, IBCLC, RLC, has completed her term as Treasurer and will continue to work with USLCA as chair of the Equity Taskforce—a role for which she has passion and insight. You will hear more about this important work, so stay tuned. If you’d like to join Michele, please contact her at: equity@uslca.org.

Debi Ferrarello, MSN, MS, RN, IBCLC, RLC stepped into the role of President and looks forward to USLCA’s next chapter.  Christine Staricka, IBCLC, RLC, takes Debi’s place as Director of Marketing and has already begun tweeting, posting, and shouting for the IBCLC!
