Amber Porter

Amber Porter is a native of Iowa and the middle child of three and the only girl, Amber relocated to Dallas at the age of 10. After high school she became a Certified Medical Assistant. Working as a CMA she attended to a lot of elderly patients, and throughout the years went on to become a Certified Dementia Practitioner, an Activities Coordinator, a Lifestyle Director, and a Memory Care Director. She loved what she was doing but it was not fulfilling. Amber became a mother at a very young age, and that first experience ignited a passion deep within her. She is the mother of 5 wonderful children ranging from the ages of 7 to 24. Amber’s journey into motherhood made her realize that pregnancy comes with so many questions and emotions. She is an educator at heart and thrives on providing information so that you may make informed decisions regarding your pregnancy and delivery. Amber is kind and loving with a personality and positive spirit that fills the room. She is knowledgeable and passionate about the care that you receive during your journey. Amber can confidently support births of any type but specializes in unmedicated birth, teenage pregnancy, IVF and birth after loss.
As a devout Apostolic Pentecostal Christian, she is deeply rooted in her faith. Amber is active in her church community and is a leader for the Autism and Us Organization, a member of DONA International, National Black Doula Association, and the Black Maternal Health Association, and Texas Midwives Association. She is a Best Certified Doula, Lactation Consultant, Childbirth Educator, Aromatherapist and student Midwife. In her free time, Amber enjoys reading, crafting and outdoor adventures with her three children who are still at home and their pet Newfypoo, Bonnie
Clementé G. Love

Clementé G. Love is a passionate advocate for birthing and lactating individuals, drawing from her personal experiences as a wife and mother of two from St. Louis, Missouri. Armed with a B.A. in Communication Studies from Fontbonne University, Clementé leverages her expertise in non-verbal and verbal communication to provide compassionate and empathetic support to her clients as the owner of Clem the Doula.
Clementé’s commitment to advocacy is evident in her efforts to address issues of racial justice, notably in demanding accountability and change in the Indianola community of rural Iowa during critical times such as the George Floyd tragedy and the challenges brought by COVID. Additionally, her DEI work with the Des Moines Metro Opera further underscores her dedication to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in various spheres, particularly within the arts and culture sectors.
Currently residing in Sherman, Texas, she continues her impactful work, embracing the diverse population of her community. As a certified birth and postpartum doula since 2023, Clementé is a valued member of the Iowa Black Doula Collective, member of DONA International and serves as an Ambassador for their Southern Region, Birth Connections International, volunteers for La Leche League USA as a Leader, and serves as coordinator for their signature fundraising event and Helpline. Her training through The B.L.A.C.K. Course has equipped her to be a Certified Blactation Educator, specializing in providing cultural understanding and empathy to Black families embarking on their breastfeeding journey.

Almetria Turner, CCHW, CLES, CPPC, CPST, CMHE, RYT, RPYT, REC-C, MA (she/her), is a Multi-Hyphenate Wellness DisruptHER, Full Spectrum Doula, Reproductive Justice and Health Equity Advocate redefining holistic, community, and maternal health to improve better performance, positive outcomes and healthier lifestyles.
As a native Memphian and product of Orange Mound, the first African American community built solely by and for African Americans in America, she earned her Bachelors and Masters degree in Journalism with an emphasis in Advertising and Public Relations from the University of Memphis, a Certificate in Women’s Entrepreneurship from Cornell University and a Certificate in Community Health from Vanderbilt University School of Nursing.
She is the proud owner of Roots and River Wellness, a full spectrum doula and perinatal service company and Morning by Mourning an end-of-life doula service that provides support to guide the terminally ill, birthing person and their loved ones through the dying, loss and grieving process.
Author and well sought-after panelist, motivational and keynote speaker for over 60+ Fortune 100 and 500 companies, schools, churches and non-profit organizations, Almetria has been featured and published in several local, regional, national and international mediums and news outlets.

Amber Pendergraph-Leak, Executive Director at BirthMatters in Spartanburg, South Carolina, has more than 13 years of doula experience. She holds certifications from DONA International and is a Certified Lactation Counselor, Medical Assistant, and certified Community Health Worker. Amber has served as an ambassador of the SC CHW and completed community-based doula training with BirthMatters, an experience she openly shares as having been life-changing. Having attended over 300 births, Amber is a respected community leader who transitioned from community-based doula to Lead doula before taking on her current role. Her mission is to uplift her community through advocacy, empowerment, and education, with a focus on pursuing birth justice and equity to enhance maternal health.
