We love highlighting the activities of our amazing USLCA chapters! This month, we’re excited to share information from the Northern Illinois Lactation Consultant Association (NILCA).
NILCA is mostly comprised of lactation professionals and peer supporters that meet semi-monthly to provide camaraderie and opportunities for education and networking. NILCA members promote breastfeeding in a variety of settings: hospitals, public health departments, private practices, clinics and medical offices, businesses, and in their communities.
The chapter’s mission is to:

Enhance communication among members and with the community

Promote continued improvement of skills relating to lactation consultation

Further the visibility and professional growth of lactation consultants within Northern Illinois, and to enhance the growth of USLCA and ILCA
NILCA is committed to raising up future generations of lactation professionals! In support of it’s mission, NILCA recently made a very generous donation to USLCA’s IBCLC Scholarship Program. Their donation will provide opportunities for aspiring lactation care providers to become IBCLCs. Thank you NILCA!
