State and local USLCA Chapters are a place to find great networking and collaboration activities, as well as ideas on how to grow and strengthen your IBCLC presence in your community. They also can be the foundation for efforts to achieve licensure for IBCLCs in your state. There are currently just 21 states, plus Washington D.C., with official USLCA Chapters—however, some states have with more than one Chapter. If there is not a Chapter in your state, consider initiating efforts to establish one…or if you live in a large state with several metropolitan areas, think about starting one in your own city, county, or parish. The following states have no Chapters, and therefore no representation as a part the quarterly Chapter calls with the USLCA executive board, and no interactions with other Chapters around the country:
