Educational Opportunities
Subscription to Clinical Lactation Journal
Clinical Lactation is USLCA’s peer-reviewed journal which features practical techniques and the latest in evidence-based care for all professionals who work with breastfeeding mothers and babies. Digital Access and Basic level members receive their subscription to Clinical Lactation through online access only. All other members will receive a mailed, printed issue each quarter of their membership. Members can also order a printed copy of any previous journal here for the discounted rate of $10/journal.
Please note: Members with international mailing addresses will incur a mailing fee for a printed journal subscription.
Two Free Recorded Webinars Every Quarter*
Every quarter, USLCA selects two recorded webinars, each offering one CEU, to be offered for free to our Standard and Enhanced level members. If a member accesses and views the two free webinars each quarter, they will have collected eight free CEUs by the end of their 12-month membership. The set of free webinars changes every three months beginning in January, April, July, and October each year. These free recorded webinars are not transferable.
Free Live Webinars for Enhanced Members*
Enhanced members are able to register for and attend all USLCA live webinars for free. The free live webinars for Enhanced members are not transferable. Enhanced members must attend the live webinar to receive CEUs, and the recording of the webinar will not be provided to those members who are unable to attend the live session.
USLCA members, except Digital Access level members, may purchase recorded and live webinars at a discounted rate of $5-$15 per credit hour.
Discounts on Other Educational Opportunities*
USLCA members, except Digital Access level members, receive significant discounts on other educational opportunities offering CEUs, including Regional Workshops and USLCA’s national conference.
Subscription to Melanated Mammary Atlas*
Enhanced members receive a subscription to the Melanated Mammary Atlas, a new resource that features images displaying mammary-related conditions on Asian, Indigenous, Black, and Brown folks. The Atlas features the first and only cache of images of this type available for viewing and constantly updated by health professionals and the public.
Interested in showing a webinar with a work group or at a meeting? A group of five or more can participate and receive CEUs for only $10 per person per credit hour. The group webinar coordinator must be a USLCA member to access the group webinar page.

The goal of USLCA’s Speaker Database is to curate a running list of speakers and topics that is available for use to the entire profession. We hope this database will help identify and promote a newer and more diverse group of available speakers. USLCA members can submit their information to be listed in the Speaker Database using this online form. For more information on this benefit, click here.
USLCA’s job board serves as a resource to connect employers with eager lactation care providers. Both members and non-members are able submit a job to be posted on the board for free. Access to view the job postings is restricted to USLCA members. Learn more about our job board here.
One of the most important benefits USLCA offers to our IBCLC members is the ability to create a listing in our US-based “Find An IBCLC” directory. This listing helps potential clients and employers find you. You can brand your listing with your own logo, include a photo if you choose, and offer as much information as you like. Networking and Involvement Opportunities
USLCA Chapters provide valuable opportunities for networking, developing relationships with aspiring lactation professionals, and making the most of advocacy opportunities to advance our profession. We encourage you to consider joining your local chapter.
Many IBCLCs state that getting clinical hours was the hardest part of joining our profession. Many more find getting those hours a barrier to entry. In order to address this challenge, USLCA hosts a database to help link aspiring lactation professionals and mentors. USLCA members who offer mentoring opportunities are encouraged to opt-in and be listed in USLCA’s mentorship directory. Log-in to your member profile today to complete your directory listing!
Do you have a large social media presence? Are you interested in representing USLCA at local conferences and events? If so, please consider applying for the USLCA brand ambassador program! Ambassadors will be eligible to attend approved local conferences and events FREE in exchange for representing USLCA.
Do you have expertise in an area that you’d like to share? USLCA frequently receives requests to provide comments from lactation experts and we would like to utilize our members! If you are interested in being placed on a list for a given topic area, please fill out our form. We will rotate through any listed experts for each request. Please note that this participation is not to speak on behalf of USLCA but rather to share the expertise of USLCA members across the country.
